The fees payable to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (Qld) Ltd (ATSILS) are limited to payment of counsel’s fees. Fees are not payable for the solicitor’s professional fees, conduct money or outlays such as the cost of phone calls, facsimiles and photocopying.
Service providers engaged by ATSILS can claim disbursements such as travel, accommodation and medical reports. This will only be approved in conjunction with a substantive grant of aid for counsel. Fees are not payable for the cost of outlays such as medical reports alone.
