The practitioner will be advised of the terms (scope of work) in the approval email when aid is granted. The practitioner may not use the proforma invoice generated to claim for any other activity performed, for example if:

    • aid was approved to apply for/respond to a domestic violence application this grant of aid cannot be used to represent the client in relation to breach of domestic violence proceedings.
    • aid was approved for a further day of interim hearing this grant of aid can not be used to conduct other proceeding such as mentions or discovery.

The only circumstances when a practitioner may conduct work outside the scope of the grant of aid is in criminal law matters when the client has been granted aid for trial and the matter proceeds by way of a plea.
