Payment rules
It is a condition of the grant of aid that the practitioner (solicitor and counsel) is required to provide Legal Aid Queensland with details of work undertaken to substantiate the claim for preparation.
The practitioner must attach one of the following when submitting the invoice for payment:
- Completed Expensive case preparation details claim form which can be accessed via Grants Online
- Copy of a time and activity record produced by the practitioner (eg. WIP)
If the substantiating document is not attached, the invoice will not be certified for payment.
Audit requirements
Files may be requested for audit and documentation to support claims must be evidenced on the file.
