Professional fees in criminal law matters

Fees payable in criminal law matters are fixed fees, this means that the grants of aid are not based on an hourly rate, but are based on the activity performed, the fees payable for each activity are detailed in the scale of fees. The practitioner will be advised of the fee payable by email when aid is approved.

Fixed fee grants of aid cannot be exceeded, additional fees are only payable when a matter is deemed to be expensive or extraordinary.
