Exceptions to the review process are outlined in the policy manual.
Following internal review should aid continue to be refused and the client requests an external review that cannot wait until the next scheduled external review meeting the review will be scheduled before an External Review Officer for urgent consideration. The External Review Officer will review the decision and the applicant will then be advised in writing and/or by telephone of the outcome. For urgent reviews the applicant agrees to forego their right to be contacted by telephone and speak with the External Review Officer.
