Having regard to the priorities set by government Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ) does not provide grants of legal assistance for this type of civil law matter.

The Civil Law Legal Aid Scheme (CLLAS) is a scheme set up by the state government to assist financially disadvantaged people who have civil law claims or actions where LAQ does not provide aid.

The CLLAS will consider funding grants of aid for outlays associated with a civil claim or action to be dealt with by the Queensland Courts or Tribunals in accordance with the laws of Queensland.

The CLLAS is funded by The Public Trustee of Queensland and is administered by LAQ.

If LAQ receives an application for aid for a matter that cannot be funded under LAQ funding guidelines this application will be refused and referred to CLLAS for consideration.
