    For legal aid to be granted for an ICL at an appeal, the following tests must be satisfied:

    Documentary requirements

    Applications received from preferred supplier or in-house practitioner

    Practitioners seeking a grant of legal assistance must electronically submit an application for aid via the Grants Online system.

    The following documents are retained on file:

    Grant(s) of aid

    The grants of aid that may be available are as follows:

    • IC5A - Appeal to a single judge of the Family Court
    • IC5B - Appeal to the full court of the Family Court

    Extension(s) of aid

    The grants of aid that may be available as are follows:

    • IC5C - Additional days of appeal

    Review of decisions

    A decision to refuse legal aid for this type of matter may be appealed to the external review officer (refer to review of decisions).
