Feedback
What if I'm not satisfied with a decision I have received under the Right to Information Act 2009 (the RTI Act) or the Information Privacy Act 2009 (the IP Act)?
The RTI Act and IP Act provide two levels of review:
Internal review
You can request an internal review in writing within 20 business days after the date of the written notice of the decision. Your application can be lodged in person at one of our offices, by post or email to:
Governance — RTI/IP
Legal Aid Queensland
GPO Box 2449
Brisbane Qld 4001
Phone 1300 65 11 88
Email rti@legalaid.qld.gov.au
The internal review will be done by an officer more senior to the original decision maker.
External review
You do not have to request an internal review first to be eligible to apply for an external review by the Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC).
You may apply to the OIC for an independent external review. An external review application must be made to the OIC within 20 business days from the date of the written notice of your original or internal review decision.
Your application can be lodged using the external review application form available on the OIC website, or:
- by post — PO Box 10143, Adelaide Street, Brisbane Qld 4000
- by email — administration@oic.qld.gov.au
- in person — Level 11, 53 Albert Street, Brisbane
