>> PRESENTER: You need to feel safe at all times during the family dispute resolution process.
If you think that you or your children may be at risk at any time you should get advice immediately. In some circumstances family dispute resolution may not be the best option for you.
If your situation is affected by domestic violence, child abuse, or the threat of it, you should get legal advice and immediate help from the police if necessary.
Legal Aid Queensland, Family Relationship Centres and the Family Relationship Advice Line can give you information about what you can do to protect yourself and how this could affect the separation process. They can also put you in touch with other support services available to help you.
