Solicitor clause wording
It appears that this matter may qualify for compensation from the Appeal Costs Fund.
It is a condition of the grant of aid in criminal and civil matters that you seek an indemnity certificate (where appropriate) and make an application to the Appeal Costs Board. A copy of the indemnity certificate should be provided to Legal Aid Queensland.
In legally aid matters the Appeal Costs Board only makes reimbursement at the Legal Aid Scale of Fees. We will submit a statement of the costs of this matter direct to the Appeal Costs Board.
We also bring your attention to S5(6) of the Appeal Costs Fund Act 1973, which provides that the Appeal Cost Board may allow a payment to you (as determined by the Board) for the cost of making the application.
