Legal aid has been granted for you to provide an opinion in relation to the client’s prospects of success in appealing a decision of the Family Law Courts. This is a maximum fee grant of aid. Claims can be made for actual time spent up to the maximum. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage allows for a solicitor and counsel to provide an opinion in relation to the client’s prospects of success in appealing the decision. Funding for parties in family law matters are subject to a cost cap. Refer to Guideline 18 – Family law costs management.
Legal aid has been granted for a solicitor to provide an opinion in relation to your prospects of success in appealing a decision of the Family Law Courts. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage allows for a solicitor to provide an opinion in relation to your prospects of success in appealing the decision. Tests apply for continued funding once the opinion has been provided. The maximum professional fee Legal Aid Queensland will pay your lawyer at this stage is $900.00 plus $1,224.00 for counsel. Attendances Practitioners must claim for the actual time spent on a matter, up to the maximum allowable.
Barrister opinion on family law appealWhere counsel is briefed to provide an opinion in relation to a family law appeal counsel is entitled to claim the fee provided they have produced an opinion on prospects of success of an appeal.
