Legal aid has been granted for additional standard preparation where an interpreter has been engaged or there are 3 or more parties (excluding the ICL) involved. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage includes taking client instructions and preparing the matter. This is a maximum fee grant of aid. Claims can be made for actual time spent up to the maximum. Funding for parties in family law matters is subject to a cost cap. Refer to Guideline 18 – Family law costs management.
