Legal aid has been granted for an additional $$ hours preparation for a trial listed for 7 or more days for a solicitor. This grant of aid is in addition to the trial preparation grant already provided and covers all work required to prepare for the trial. This is a maximum fee grant of aid. Claims can be made for actual time spent up to the maximum. Funding for parties in family law matters is subject to a cost cap. Refer to Guideline 18 – Family law costs management.
Legal aid has been granted for additional standard preparation. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage allows your solicitor to prepare your matter. The maximum professional fee Legal Aid will pay your lawyer at this stage is $$ hours at $150.00 per hour. Funding for parties in family law matters is subject to a cost cap.
