Legal aid has been granted for an $$ hours preparation for a trial listed for 7 or more days for counsel. This grant of aid is in addition to the trial preparation grant already provided and covers all work required for counsel to prepare for the trial. Funding for parties in family law matters is subject to a cost cap. Refer to Guideline 18 – Family law costs management.
Legal aid has been granted for additional standard preparation. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage allows counsel to prepare for your matter. The maximum professional fee Legal Aid will pay counsel at this stage is $$ hours at $204.00 per hour. Funding for parties in family law matters is subject to a cost cap. Counsel preparationCounsel is entitled to the full amount of the preparation for trial grant if the brief was delivered to and accepted by counsel and preparation for trial was conducted.
