Legal aid has been granted for additional standard preparation for a trial listed for 5 or 6 days for solicitor and counsel. This grant of aid is in addition to the trial preparation grant already provided and covers all additional work required to prepare for the trial. This is a maximum fee grant of aid. Claims can be made for actual time spent up to the maximum.

The additional standard preparation grants issued in family law are subject to the following payment rules:

 Professional fees in family and civil law matters

Costing guidelines for family and civil matters

Counsel preparation
Counsel is entitled to the full amount of the preparation for trial grant if the brief was delivered to and accepted by counsel and preparation for trial was conducted.
