The Family Violence and Cross-Examination Scheme is a Commonwealth government initiative which provides legal representation to people where a ban on personal cross-examination has been made. Your application has been received. To receive assistance under the Scheme: • the court must have issued a Banning Notice preventing personal cross-examination under s102NA of the Family Law Act 1975 and provided a copy of the Notice to Legal Aid Queensland; • the dates for trial must be set; • you must complete and return the scheme application form to Legal Aid Queensland; and • funding must be available within the scheme. More information about the scheme can be found on our website at www.legalaid.qld.gov.au When the trial date is within 12 weeks we will confirm whether funding is available within the scheme and where available allocate a lawyer. You will be notified in writing of the outcome.
