Clause type: Approval
Aid is approved to dispose of a summary matter by way of a plea of guilty in the <!court_type!>, or to undertake initial preparation for trial and provide Legal Aid Queensland with a merit opinion in regards to your client's prospects of success at trial. If aid is sought for trial you must submit a summary trial extension of aid request.
Aid is approved for you to get advice from a solicitor about your <!court_type!> matter. If you enter a plea of guilty your solicitor will represent you. At this stage your solicitor does not have funding to represent you at trial. If you want to enter a plea of not guilty your solicitor will advise you whether they think you are likely to be successful. If your solicitor requests funding for a trial we will assess whether you meet our guidelines.
