Legal Aid may consider a family law matter to be complex when one or more of the following factors are present: - the Family Court has deemed the matter complex, or - the matter has not finalised despite a previous defended hearing (i.e. previous final hearing/trial), or - the matter involves complex social dynamics, psychological or emotional issues (e.g. cultural issues; substantiated allegations of child abuse; separation of siblings), or - the matter involves voluminous material, or o the matter involves complex issues of law. Based on the information you have provided about the case, we are not satisfied the matter meets the complexity criteria.
