Legal aid is only available to negotiate with the Department of Child Safety where: ­ a final order has been made, and ­ the applicant is named in the custody/guardianship order, and ­ the applicant is unable to effectively negotiate with the Department without legal representation, or - the applicant is unable to attend a required Family Group Meeting or Case Plan Review Meeting without legal representation Based on the information provided about your client’s case one or more of these criteria have not been met.
