Legal Aid Queensland prioritises available funding in family law matters to financially disadvantaged clients in certain priority groups based on circumstances of vulnerability or disadvantage.
Legal Aid Queensland considers a client is in a priority group where the applicant:
- is involved in a family law dispute where allegations of domestic and family violence have been made,
- has had involvement with a child welfare authority,
- is aged under 25 years old,
- is aged over 65 years old,
- is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander,
- lives in a remote location,
- is homeless,
- requires the services of an interpreter, or
- has a disability or mental illness.
Based on the information you have provided about your client, they have not been identified as a person within one of these priority groups.
