Legal aid has been granted for additional standard preparation where an interpreter has been engaged or there are 3 or more parties (excluding the ICL) involved. Grants of legal assistance in family law matters are provided in stages. This stage allows you to prepare the matter. This is a maximum fee grant of aid. Claims can be made for actual time spent up to the maximum.
The additional standard preparation grant where an interpreter has been engaged or there are 3 or more parties involved is only available for family law matters for an ICL.
The ICPA grant is to compensate for the additional time spent preparing for the matter. This fee is claimable at stages 2 and 3 of the family law stage model; however this fee cannot be claimed at stage 3 if another additional standard preparation grant (i.e. trials listed for more than 3 days) is issued.
