Based in Mount Isa, the WQJN is one of Legal Aid Queensland’s regional legal service programs which provides free legal services for people living in Queensland’s central west region.
The team will be running free legal advice sessions for anyone needing help with a legal problem.
WQJN lawyer Marcia Sullivan said the free service offered local people the chance to ask questions about their legal problems and receive confidential advice from an experienced lawyer.
“The team will be able to provide advice across all areas of family and civil law,” Ms Sullivan said.
“This includes help with child support problems, separation, child protection, domestic violence issues and consumer issues.
“Our aim is to give rural Queenslanders a voice in the justice system, particularly those people who live in areas where access to a lawyer is difficult.”
