LONGREACH, Barcaldine and Winton residents can access free legal information and advice when Legal Aid Queensland’s Western Queensland Justice Network (WQJN) team visit the area from 5–7 July 2016.
Based in Mount Isa, the WQJN is one of Legal Aid Queensland’s regional legal service programs which provides free legal services for people living in Queensland’s central west region.
The team will be running free legal advice sessions for anyone needing help with a legal problem.
WQJN lawyer Marcia Sullivan said the free service offered local people the chance to ask questions about their legal problems and receive confidential advice from an experienced lawyer.
“The team will be able to provide advice across all areas of family, criminal and civil law,” Ms Sullivan said.
“This includes help with child support problems, domestic violence issues and consumer rip-offs.
“Our aim is to give rural Queenslanders a voice in the justice system, particularly those people who live in areas where access to a lawyer is difficult.”
